I've Heard the Mermaids Singing

In 1980s Toronto, the socially awkward but imaginative Polly works as a secretary in a chic art gallery. She idolizes her charismatic employer, Gabrielle, who embodies the artistic world Polly deeply craves. As Polly retreats into vivid daydreams to escape her reality, a complex emotional tension arises when Gabrielle rekindles a relationship with a young painter. Beneath the gallery's polished surface, Polly begins to realize that her idol is not exactly the person she claims to be.
