Cinemeet ("we", "us", "our", or "Company") operates the Cinemeet mobile application. This Privacy Policy outlines our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service:

2.1 User Profile Information

When you create an account, we collect personal information you voluntarily provide, including: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile photographs, and movie preferences/favorites. You have full control over what information you share.

2.2 App Usage and Performance Data

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and app performance data. This data is fully anonymized and cannot be traced back to individual users. It helps us identify and fix technical issues in the application.

2.3 Push Notification Preferences

We collect push notification tokens to send you updates about new matches and chat messages. You can disable these notifications at any time through your device settings.

2.4 Communication Data

We store messages and interactions between users to facilitate the dating service. This data is stored securely on our servers.

4. Content Moderation and Safety

Cinemeet is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful community. We implement comprehensive content moderation practices:

4.1 Automated Content Filtering

We use automated systems to scan and filter objectionable content including inappropriate images, offensive language, and spam. This helps us detect and remove problematic content before it reaches other users.

4.2 User Reporting and Blocking

All users have the ability to report and block other users directly from profile details or during chat conversations. When you report a user or content:

  • Your report is submitted anonymously to our moderation team
  • We review the report within 24 hours
  • We may access reported messages, profiles, or images to investigate
  • You will be notified of the action taken
  • You can block users instantly from their profile or chat to prevent all future contact

4.3 Moderation Team Review

Our human moderation team reviews:

  • All user-submitted reports (reviewed within 24 hours)
  • Flagged content identified by automated systems
  • Random samples of user profiles and interactions
  • Accounts with suspicious patterns or multiple reports

4.4 Enforcement Actions

Upon verification of policy violations, we take swift action:

  • Content Removal: Objectionable content is immediately removed
  • User Ejection: Users who provide offending content are removed from the platform
  • Account Suspension: Temporary suspension for minor violations
  • Permanent Ban: Permanent removal for serious violations
  • Device Ban: Prevention of creating new accounts on the same device

4.5 Data Retention for Safety

For safety and moderation purposes, we may retain certain data even after account deletion:

  • Records of violations and enforcement actions (retained for legal and safety purposes)
  • Device identifiers of banned users (to prevent re-registration)
  • Reported content that led to enforcement actions (as evidence of violations)

5. Data Storage and Security

Server Location: Your data is stored securely on servers hosted in Europe through our database provider, ensuring GDPR compliance.

Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest. Your data is protected with authentication tokens and access controls.

Firebase Crashlytics: Crash data collected through Google Firebase is anonymized and cannot be linked to your personal information. Google's retention policy for Firebase data applies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties. We do not sell, trade, or rent your information. The only exception is that crash and performance data is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics in anonymized form for app improvement purposes.

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

7.1 Self-Service Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time directly through the app:

  • Open Settings in the Cinemeet app
  • Navigate to Privacy & Data
  • Select "Delete Account"
  • Confirm your decision

Once you delete your account, all your data (profile, photos, messages, matches) will be permanently removed from our servers immediately and cannot be recovered.

7.2 Data Deletion via Email

Alternatively, you can request account deletion by email:

  • Email us at [email protected] with your request
  • Include your account email address
  • We will confirm your identity and process your deletion request within 30 days
  • You will receive confirmation once your data has been deleted
Note: As stated in section 4.5, certain safety-related data (violation records, device bans) may be retained to protect the community even after account deletion.

8. GDPR Compliance

Cinemeet complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a resident of the European Union or UK, you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
