Silent Rebellion in Zaandam

Switzerland, 1943. In a traditional, deeply religious mountain village, fifteen-year-old Emma dreams of becoming a nurse. Her aspirations are shattered after a traumatic assault leaves her pregnant. As she navigates the suffocating social pressures and rigid moral codes of her community, Emma realizes that staying neutral during wartime is impossible. She embarks on a journey of self-determination, defying the hypocrisy of her neighbors and challenging the cruel decisions made by those in power during the height of the Second World War.
