The President's Cake in Utrecht

Set in 1990s Iraq amidst the backdrop of war and extreme food shortages, Saddam Hussein demands that every school in the country bake a cake to celebrate his birthday. Nine-year-old Lamia is unexpectedly chosen to fulfill this mandatory task. Facing crushing poverty and a lack of resources, she must journey from the countryside to the city. Relying solely on her wits and imagination, she desperately scours for the necessary ingredients, knowing that failure to provide the cake carries severe consequences.
